*Please note, due to the Coronavirus pandemic all normal PACSO activities have been suspended for the foreseeable future. The safety of all PACSO children & young adults, their families, and our staff is of the upmost importance to us. Starting on 14th September 2020, we will begin to offer respite activities again, although in a very limited capacity. We hope to offer additional activities soon. For more information about the sessions currently available, please email email@example.com*
Holiday Trips and Activities
During the school holidays, PACSO organises a range of exciting trips for children and young people. When we plan our trips we always take into account the things that the young people (and their parents and carers!) have told us they want to do. Many of them provide an opportunity for our young people to practice their independence skills, and might involve them using public transport, paying entry fees etc. Half day trips are held locally and might include a visit to the bowling alley or cinema, whilst full day trips go further afield. If you are interested in any of these trips, please contact Hannah in the office to ask about availability, on 01243 533353. Bursaries may be available for trips.
Primary Trips for children age 5 -11
Secondary Trips for young people age 11 -18
PACSO Plus trips from 18-25.
Our next trips will be taking place during the summer holidays. Booking forms for all our trips and activities are available here.
For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org. You need to be a member of PACSO to join us on a trip, but membership is free! These trips are only open to young people with disabilities/additional needs (NOT siblings) as there are limited spaces available. Parents/carers don’t need to attend. Places are allocated first come first served according to numbers and needs of the young adults, so we recommend booking in ASAP.
Family Fun Days
Each year we plan a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy together. Each activity is open to all PACSO children and young people aged 0-25 and their immediate families. Bursaries may be available to help with family days and weekends.
Many of the families who attend PACSO tell us they find it difficult to go out on day trips like other families because of the dynamics involved in caring for a disabled child when out and about. PACSO have addressed this by providing occasional days out for the whole family to enjoy. By putting on wheelchair-accessible transport, and subsidising entry fees, PACSO is able to provide a fun and affordable day out….bring your own lunch and join in the fun.
CYE Family Weekend Residential, 13 and 14 June 2020
CYE Fun Day – (Friday 8 May 2020) at CYE Sailing Centre in Cobnor, this day aims to bring PACSO families together to enjoy a day on the water. Each year we provide a range of activities including kayaking, sailing, wheelchair-accessible boat trips around the harbour, assault course, archery, field games, bouncy castle, sensory play and messy play. A barbecue lunch is provided. CYE and PACSO staff are onsite during the day to oversee the activities, and to help out where necessary…however parents and carers are responsible for your children on this day.
Each year we try to include at least one theatre trip in our portfolio of family fun days. Previously, we’ve seen Beauty and the Beast, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins during holidays and half terms.
