During the school holidays, PACSO organises a range of exciting trips for children and young people. When we plan our trips we always take into account the things that the young people (and their parents and carers!) have told us they want to do. Many of them provide an opportunity for our young people to practice their independence skills, and might involve them using public transport, paying entry fees etc. Half day trips are held locally and might include a visit to the bowling alley or cinema, whilst full day trips go further afield. If you are interested in any of these trips, please contact Hannah in the office to ask about availability, on 01243 533353. Bursaries are available for trips.

Family Fun Days

Each year we plan a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy together. Each activity is open to all PACSO children and young people aged 0-25 and their immediate families. Bursaries are available to help with family days and weekends. These include:

CYE Fun Day Monday 7th May 2018

Held on May Day Bank Holiday (the first Monday in May) at CYE Sailing Centre in Cobnor, this day aims to bring PACSO families together to enjoy a day on the water. Each year we provide a range of activities including kayaking, sailing, wheelchair-accessible boat trips around the harbour, assault course, archery, field games, bouncy castle, sensory play and messy play. A barbecue lunch is provided. CYE and PACSO staff are onsite during the day to oversee the activities, and to help out where necessary…however parents and carers are responsible for your children on this day.

Booking forms for our 2018 Fun Day are available now from admin@pacso.org.uk.

CYE Residential Weekend

In June 2017, a number of PACSO families enjoyed a residential weekend  with PACSO at CYE Sailing centre. We had beach trips, kayaking and rafting, ice creams, family games and a bonfire. Families were treated to meals cooked by CYE, and were amazingly looked after by the PACSO and CYE teams. We hope to run this event again. Please watch this space for more details.

Theatre Trips

Each year we try to include at least one theatre trip in our portfolio of family fun days. Previously, we’ve seen Beauty and the Beast, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins during holidays and half terms.

Days Out

Many of the families who attend PACSO tell us they find it difficult to go out on day trips like other families because of the dynamics involved in caring for a disabled child when out and about. PACSO have addressed this by providing occasional days out for the whole family to enjoy. By putting on wheelchair-accessible transport, and subsidising entry fees, PACSO is able to provide a fun and affordable day out….bring your own lunch and join in the fun. Please watch this space for details of our next outing.
