A few weeks ago Val met a man in Tesco’s collecting money for disabled children. Being a subject that is very close to her heart, she asked him who he was collecting for. He then explained about Donna’s Dream House.
This Blackpool-based charity offers free holiday experiences for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families. At their Snowdrop Centre, they also support families who have lost a child, giving them the chance to come to terms with their tragic loss.
The Charity is resourced by a voluntary team who are on hand to support families. This means that the whole family has a break. In 2015, Donna’s Dream House accommodated over 1600 people from all over the UK; 500 of which came from the South of England.
If you would like to find out if you meet the criteria for a free holiday, please head across to their website: http://www.donnasdreamhouse.co.uk/pages/index.html.You will find a host of information regarding the charity and the service that they provide.
If you do make contact with Donna’s Dream House, please let us know how you get on. We’d also love to hear if you have already benefited from them and would like to write a guest blog post for us about your experience!
