Do you live in West Sussex and have a child or young person with special needs and disabilities? If so, you could apply for a Compass Card!

Compass Disability Register

The Compass is the ‘disability register’ for West Sussex. It contains information about children and young people with SEND, who live or go to school in West Sussex. The detailed database provides anonymous information to local service providers and policy makers. It is held independently by Amaze, a Brighton-based charity. West Sussex County Council will use the information on The Compass to develop services for children and young people.

Discounted Leisure Activities

For families who have a child with a disability, leisure time can be expensive and stressful. However, once a child or young person is on The Compass they will receive a free Compass Card. This provides a range of discounts and special offers on leisure activities across West Sussex and beyond. Offers are being added to almost daily, and locally include:

  • Free gym use and free swimming at Arun Leisure Centre
  • Special deals at Chichester Festival Theatre
  • Big discounts at Lodge Hill Activity Centre.

If that doesn’t appeal to you, there are discounts in soft play, eating out and much more besides. For those who can travel, there are some fantastic deals in other parts of the county, and even in Brighton!

Once you are registered, you will be kept up to date on the offers, news and services that matter to you.

A Voice

Registering gives you a voice in shaping local services. The more children and young people on the register, the better West Sussex County Council and other local organisations can plan their services

How to Apply

If you would like to be part of this scheme you will need to complete a Compass Registration Form for each child or young person with SEND. Once your application has been processed your child or young person will receive their Compass Card. You will then be kept up to date with news, information, and opportunities for you to shape services into the future. Amaze will ask you to update the information every two years. Young people over the age of 16 are welcome to fill in their own form.

Call Amaze on 0300 123 9186 for a registration form, or email them at:
